The Second Day

Today was my second day here. After I woke up and got ready, I went downstairs and there was a Schultüte waiting for me!!

(I think I was a little tired or too excited because my eyes are closed.)

My breakfast and goodies :D

Lisa!! She is very good at eating.

Me on the bus on the way to school.
The buses are public buses and nicer than our buses. I get a special pass because I'm a guest so I don't have to pay for the bus :)

When we arrived, we took a tour of the school.

Lisa has Physics and I toured. Then I joined her for English where we watched Into the Wild  in English with German subtitles!

Afterwards, we went to Wirtschaft (economy). The teacher talked about the test they have coming up and then we played Stadt, Land, Fluß. Emily said it's called Scattebrain in English but I googled it and I think it's Scattergories. We played it in English once. You have categories, today we had 6. A letter is called and then you have to think of words beginning with that letter for each category. I helped Lisa a few times.

I also learned many new words today. I brought a little notebook for new words but Lisa also gave me one so I'm using that with the colorful pens she gave me.

Since normally there are 8 classes/periods and Lisa only had 6 today, we got to go home on early with the bus.

This is the scenery from the bus.

Her grandparents live a street over so they came to visit and were very nice. I even understood one of the jokes her grandpa made and her grandma liked my hair and asked if it was naturally curly.
Also, the day I arrived her grandma had made an Erdbeertorte for me. (strawberry) Herr G was very jealous when I told him. It was delicious.

Next, we visited Wismar. Lisa and I went shopping and sightseeing. Her mom went shopping seperately and was also very nice and got a battery for my watch so I can be more German :)

Also, every day in the evening, we have Abendbrot (dinner). It tastes good. Bread and salami and vegetables and fruit.

And that was my first full day.

Also, Lisa and I talked about how for others this trip is "kulturschock" (culture shock)  but not as much for me because many things are the same or very similar to Hungary. Lisa was very proud/surprised when I knew the word kulturschock. I learned it from a libary book today!

    1. It does sound like witchcraft. You would think of that. Since you spelled Schultüte wrong, you won't be getting one. :P
