Hello?

Hello there.

I didn't think people still visited here.

But anyway.

I made a Blog Guide. It's right at the top ^ ^

I realized when Madi and I were writing a paragraph about the trip for the German school website, (which is posted here) that I really didn't know what days I did what so I made a guide for myself and anyone else who wants to use it.

It has quick descriptions of the main things I did each day. And all my posts about the house are still under the House tab.

Enjoy!

Back home

Hello, blog world!! Can't say I missed you. It is so nice not to have to blog everyday. I'm glad I did it so that I can remember everything and so people could see what I was up to but 18 days straight of blogging every. single. day. That was not fun.

Anyway, the travel home:

I woke up around 3:30 AM to the sound of Opa calling because he can see our house from his house and he didn't see the lights on yet. Then, we got in the car and drove to the school.

Our last picture together :(

From our mini bus window.

We cried some and then laughed. And I didn't really sleep on the bus.

My bag was good, 22.5 kg. Jessica had too much in her big bag so she had to take stuff out but then the stuff she took out was too heavy to be her carry-on with her backpack so I ended up taking it as my carry-on too. And Shelbi was so funny because she bought a gnome so she carried around a red bag that had her gnome in it the whole trip.

Amsterdam to Berlin.

The big flight was fairly uneventful. I sat between Jessica and a guy who I think was British. I watched two Bollywood movies so the flight went by fairly quickly.

I rode home with Shelbi and that was a long car ride and I was super tired. At least I slept for a little bit.

I got home and Kitti and Mom were waiting for me and Jessie was on Skype. They had the baby monitor and Abi started crying so I went up to see her. Then, the boys came home with cake and a pineapple yoghurt for me. Áron was so cute because I was hugging Dad so he hugged my legs and then I picked him and he gave me lots of kisses. I gave everyone their presents and then went to bed 24 hours after I woke up in Germany.

 Home again :)

I am excited to spend time with my family and friends, sleep, and enjoy summer break. And summer reading...

I am really glad I went on this trip. It gave me more confidence in my German skills because I realized that I understand a lot more than I thought and that even though my speaking skills aren't great, I can communicate. It was really nice to see Lisa again and to meet her family and I had a great time with them. My goal is to learn to speak German fluently and I think this trip gave me the confidence to do that. I also saw some amazing places and just had a great experience overall.

And I think this is my last post unless the photobomb compilation post we were talking about becomes a reality. Then I will make one more post.

Thank you for joining me on this journey! I hope you enjoyed reading this blog as much as I enjoyed being in Germany!

Leaving!

I am leaving to drive to the airport right now!

Once I'm back home I'll write one or two posts to wrap up the trip and this blog!

I can't wait to spend the next day sitting on an airplane.

And it's 4 AM!! Sigh.

The Eighteenth Day AKA The Final Day

Happy birthday to my friend and sister Xiaohong!! I love you so much!! I hope one day we can actually spend your birthday together! I ams so thankful that you are in my life!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Wow. It's the last day.

I woke up around 10. I guess I was tired from our late night dance party/ blimey cow video marathon. That was fun. Since I woke up 2 hours before noon and we were invited to eat at the grandparents' house, I just had a pudding for breakfast.

Baby Libby stayed home so I had Harold the Bunny stay with her and babysit.

 Our lunch. They live here.

This is what they looked like. They're pigeons by the way.

They tasted okay, I guess. I wasn't really hungry. I think I was in my mood that I always have before I leave because I'll miss everyone a lot. The grandparents gave me chocolate and said good-bye and I promised to visit if.. when I am in Germany again.

Then, we drove to an island and the sun actually came out.

There was a lighthouse and it was very nice.

The water was cold but the sand was warm and I liked it.

I'm going to miss this girl a lot!!

We walked out to this island thing away from the shore. If you look closely you can see us walking in the bottom left and posing in the top picture.

Lisa built a "castle" and Mutti took a nap.

We ate ice cream.

As we were walking back to our car, we saw Herr G and Herr Milde driving with Baby Henrik and probably Madame G too to the beach. We waved.

Then, we went shopping for some snacks for me to take tomorrow and we dropped Lisa off for her 3 hour classroom driving lesson.

I came home and had three pieces of strawberry cake. Yum!

Then I waited for Lisa to get home and blogged and listened to music and packed and slept a little.

We had dinner and I got presents.

So pretty.

I got a keychain and a secret letter we can only open at home (which I almost forgot to pack).

And a wallet. I've been looking for a wallet this whole trip and yesterday I found one but Lisa told me I had to go look at newspapers and so I did and I got it now :D I also got 1 cent because when you give a wallet as a gift you're supposed to put a cent in it and then it will always be full. Yay!

My fat 26 kg suitcase. That's 3 kg overweight :(

It was only about 17 kg before when I came here so I was a little surprised. But because it was too heavy, I had to take stuff out. We decided that I would take a bigger, old backpack they had and put extra things in that. I took out some books and a pair of shoes and then I realized that the brochures I had weighed a lot too so I'm leaving about half here. Now it is exactly 23 kg so I really really hope they let it pass.

 My big old bag.

And now the day is done. I will write more on the plane and at home about the trip but I can't believe it's over.

And I really hate this feeling. The feeling where I am super sad to leave but really glad to finally get to go home. It's really really bittersweet.

The Backyard

I took some pictures of the yard from the upstairs window. I might take some of the rest of it later.

The garden.

The garden house where we played board games. The red bulding in the bottom right is the garage.

The Seventeenth Day

Well. Today I woke up but hung out in my room and got ready and then I went down 11ish or maybe a little earlier. But apparently Lisa slept in until 10:20 or so! Shocked face.

Then Mutti asked if we wanted to bike to the store or walk. I turned out to be a genius because I chose biking and it started raining so we didn't have to walk home in the rain. We bought cupcake mix. I chose the Prinzessin one.

So then Lisa made the cupcakes. I helped put the hearts on!!

We (the girls) went to eat "Chinese" food. I don't count anything as real Chinese food unless it's at Xiaohong's house. But it was yummy. The portion was huge though. We had to sit for a couple minutes before we could get up after we finished eating. And I heard Asian German!

Then, we just looked in shops.

We found these cool bubble jelly things that you put in water and then they grow. You put them in glass for decoration like pebbles or marbles. They were cool.

Blowing. I kind of failed.

We found out about Lisa's secret plans to marry a certain Tom.

Then, we tried on heels. I found sparkly gold ones!!

Lisa then proceed to walk around the store like a model and strike poses. Germany's next top model! And she was also happy because she found a pair of shoes she liked. (not the gold heels)

We went to another store to look at more toilet seats. Seashells are a recurring theme. Where is my purple sparkly toilet seat??

GERMANY!!

Lighters...fire..

I RODE A UNICORN!!!! No big deal or anything..

We took a picture in one of those beach seat things.

Lisa was making a super funny super serious face like some guy we saw in the newspaper and I wanted to take a picture but my camera was being slow and Mutti was telling her not to make an ugly face like that or else it will be all over the internet so I got her laughing face instead :)

Then, we went home to get ready for the good-bye party. It was in the container because the auditorium is under renovation.

Reunited with my baby. She was a bit wrinkled from her stay with Madi.

Crowded into a room to watch the photo slideshow.

Family

The party was okay. Shelbi organized the card and flowers for the two German teachers and we gave them those. The food was good. Our princess cupcakes and cupcakes from Oma that we took were a success. The strawberries were really yummy too.

And I took Libby home. She needed a nap from all her travels.

Like daughter, like momma.

Herr Milde also gave us shopping bags, stickers, and school planners. They're the planners the German students got on the last day of school.

I like to take stalker pictures of Lisa from the upstairs bathroom window when she is in the garden eating peas.

That was my second to last day. Madi and I talked earlier about how we were glad to go home but how we were going to miss our family here and agreed to cry together in the car on the way to Berlin. We mentioned it at the party and Lisa was like why would you cry. And then I asked her if she cried when she left me. She said no. But I told her that I cried when she left. So now I'm not going to cry because she's not going to cry. ...right.

The Sixteenth Day

Today I slept in until 10:20. Then we got ready and drove to Rostock. Today was Lisa, Mutti, and I.

First, we looked at toilet seats but they didn't have any really pretty ones at the store we went to.

Then, IKEA time!

I had fun. At I also liked finding things that we owned. I also have like 20 IKEA pencils. I was going to take one at each station as we walked through the store but Mutti saw me and she was like here take more. So I ended up with a lot.

We ate at IKEA. It tasted good.

Then, we walked through Rostock and looked in shops. It was very nice. It is funny though because I don't think I've ever been in H&M before or if I have I don't remember but here I've been more times than I can count on one finger.

Stone shoe things.

I thought it was funny that TJMaxx is TKMaxx here but then I wikipediad it and apparently it's because it would be confusing with a European brand or something.

Then, we came home and eventually had dinner. And I asked for the juice Lisa and Mutti were drinking but apparently it had a little alcohol. Whoops. So then I had orange juice. And we laughed and acted crazy. It was fun.

Then I started packing so I wouldn't have to do it later.

And we filled out my travel journal thing for GAPP.

So that was my fairly uneventful day. Yay for not having to blog super long!!
