The Fifteenth Day

Today was more fun. Yay for emails from family and the promise that I can have my very own cool toilet seat!!

So today I woke up earlier at 8:15 and then Lisa came in to wake up a few minutes later. I had a half of a brötchen with kiwi jam. Then we (Vati, Lisa, and I) left. For a two hour car ride. To Stralsund. Which is by the Baltic Sea.

It was very cool. There was a background portion. And then the aquariums. I of course took a couple thousand picturs and Vati took some too but they're not very good because you can't use flash and I'm really lazy and tired and have no desire to blog so I will just guide to the website: here.  My favorite part was how they said that the Baltic Sea looks like a crocodile with its tail curled up and mouth open. IT DOES!!

I did a bike race and got fifth place out of a bunch of sea animals. Yay!

We had another brötchen for lunch and then we bought them with bratwurst. It was good. And German. (My face here..)

Then we went to another sea museum that was cool because it was in an old church.

I liked the other one better though because the information was in English and German so I understood it.

Shelbi's birthday party. It was kind of awkward because the tables ended up being split into Americans and Germans but Lisa stayed with me. And people were weird. But it was fun. And we played telephone. Also, it rained. We bought her chocolate but Mutti wanted to give her something else too so she found a picture frame. The printer was being messed up so we couldn't print a picture of us so I drew stick figures and put it in the frame. It was funny.

The Fourteenth Day

Well. Today was interesting.

The whole day.

And I was also in one of my moods where I miss one person and then I start missing everyone I can possibly miss. And then I think about how long it is until I'll see some people again. And then I'm just sad. :(

Oh. Slumdog Millionare was really good yesterday. The story was interesting. The editing was cool. It took a while to catch what's going on since there are lots of flashbacks and flashbacks in flashbacks but I liked it. I can see why we didn't see it before at home though. 

Well. I woke up and I knocked on Lisa's door hard enough so she would know that I was awake. Then we had breakfast. I had kiwi jam again. I like it. 

Then we played more Monopoly but it was kind of boring. Also, the card thing was a little messed up. Next, I looked through Lisa's jewelry. 

I skyped Zsófi, my best best friend who lives in Hungary. It was really nice and fun since we haven't skyped in quite a while. It was also nice that there was no time difference. Lisa also talked with her a little though they were both shy and nervous. It was cute. I introduced them earlier this year so they could be email pals.

We went bowling.

It was exactly like in the US. Even the little video that plays between bowls and during strikes and spares was the same. I kind of sucked. I had one strike the second turn then I just sucked. But that's okay. At least I didn't slip. On the lane. Like I did that one time....

Then, we went to visit Lisa's greatgrandma who was really nice and fed us chocolate. It was nice seeing her but also made me sad. Because I missed my extended family. Lisa has her dad's side grandparents and greatgrandma right here while mine are so far away. It would be so perfect if everyone I love could live close together...

 I think there was something in that chocolate.

Next, we went to the grandparents for dinner.

Mutti was immediately like: Come take a picture of the toilet!! So I did. It's so cool!!

Then we went upstairs and we were like it's too bad I can't take a cool one with me and Opa said I could just hang it around my neck and say it's a carry-on and Lisa just shook her head.

We had smoked fish. Opa caught them.

We ate it with white bread and it was good. I've never had it before, I think, but it tasted like fish. That was smoked.

Then we watched TV and talked and giggled and waited for the rain to pass. And then we walked home. 

And I am so glad that today was a fairly uneventful day. I am glad to have a record of what I did every day but blogging every. single. day. is really tiring. I can't believe it's already been two weeks. 

Even though I'll miss Lisa and my family here, I am very ready to see my family again. I need children's laughter and baby smiles and messiness. Everything is so clean here. And I miss my bed.

The Thirteenth Day

Well. I got to sleep in today so I woke up around 9:30 and got dressed and everything. But I didn't see Lisa so I knocked on her door and no reply so I assumed she was already downstairs. But only Vati was there so we assumed she was still sleeping (which is unnatural!! She is always awake before me.)  I ate breakfast. I had bread with kiwi jam. It was good. They made it with kiwis from the garden. It looked like the inside of a kiwi mashed together except a little darker. Then I drank tea alone and I contemplated life, love, happiness, and why certain humans act the way they do. For reals.

Then I headed upstairs and ran into Lisa. Apparently she had been awake for a while. I don't know how she didn't hear me. I was pretty loud in the bathroom and getting ready and I knocked. So I sat while she ate and I read the baby section of the newspaper.

Then, we played Monopoly for dumb people with Berlin sights. It has credit cards so you don't even have to think math. It was cool though. Because I've been to some of the places.

For lunch, I had a chicken.

Next, I counted how much I've spent and then we drove to Wismar to shop for presents. The stores usually don't take Visa or credit cards in general which is a little annoying since I don't really have cash. But we figured it out.

Drinking bubble tea!

Bubble tea is really popular here. I finally got to try it. It is like iced tea and then has little bubbles at the bottom that can be like gummy bears or the ones I had where they popped and there was liquid jelly inside. I had pineapple tea and orange flavored bubbles. The tea was okay but the bubbles were really yummy.

Then, we went to the supermarket and then home. We talked and I showed the pictures I have of my family and then we looked at a photo album of Lisa as a tiny baby. My favorite picture was her reading the newspaper when she was less than 1. It was so cute. And Lisa told them about how I took pictures of the toilet seats here and at the grandparents so Mutti suggested that we go to a store and look at all the different kinds. Hehe. I really want a more fun toilet seat at my house. 

Then, we went in the garden to eat raspberries. For dinner, we had strawberries, pineapple, and I ate two puddings with a fork. Then I had to eat with a spoon because Lisa does not approve.  We talked and laughed. Lisa is really sad that she has no school for 6 weeks. I told her to move to the US and get summer work. Or I can send her mine. 

And now we're going to watch Slumdog Millionare. 

The Twelfth Day

I woke up and I was super tired. So I put on my Libby socks and got ready for the last day of school.

Today, the students basically just had an awards ceremony and got report cards.

Lisa got best in her class. And an awesome report card! 

It was funny though because everyone had redder faces from the unexpected sunshine yesterday.

Her grandparents picked us up around 9:20 and we also took Lucy home. At her grandparents' house, first we took pictures with the flowers in front of the house. But with their camera so I don't have the pictures. Then, I had one and a half Berliners. And a cappucino. At first I didn't like it but it got better as I drank it. Her grandparents are really nice. I showed them pictures of the two littlest on my ipod because I left my photo album at our house.

 This is their house. Before Lisa and her family moved to other street, they used to live here on the first floor. Her grandparents live on the second floor. 

After eating, we looked at baby pictures. 

I love this girl.

So cute!!

She looked like a boy when she was a baby. So she got her ears pierced when she was two so people could tell she was a girl. And she had adorable chubby cheeks!

And we read gossip magazines in German. Since celebrities' lives are already confusing, the German made it even more confusing. But I understood a little. And there were bow ties. 

So then I did Sudoku. Sehr schwer.

Poor Lisa got really sunburned yesterday. Like really.

They have cool toilet seats here too, Logan. I need to get some like this for our bathroom in America.

While we waited for lunch, we decided to walk through the village so I could take pictures.

Then we went back to her grandparents' and we all had lunch with the parents too. It was yummy. There was goulash/ gulyás but not like what we have at home. It was still good though. Then I had ice cream. And I was stuffed. Oh and I drank two cups of coke. Then, I checked my weight in the bathroom and I don't think I've gained weight. I walk it off. 

Then we went on a magical adventure so I would have something to blog about. Even though I blogged plenty about our crazy walk. 

We drove to Schwerin, the capitol of this state. 

I saw this and I was like why did no one warn me about this wonderful castle.

Then I ran into Emily who was leaving the castle. And I was like "baby!!" and she was like "mama!!" and then we hugged and took a picture.

I didn't think I was supposed to take pictures because there was a sign in German about a pass or something but then my family asked why I wasn't taking pictures and I asked if I was allowed and they said I could until someone said something. A lady said something in the last room so then I stopped. But it was really pretty and detalied.

It was really pretty. And I did my hair. And reading. Multitasker.

We stopped at a clothes' store that had a cafe on the third floor. We had cake.

We went shopping at the big shopping center and I saw Emily again and she showed me what she bought. Then I left them because they lost the two boys in their group. I glanced back and they were found later so it was okay.

Libby!!

Daughters, you better be saving your money for a gift for your mama. If you need ideas...

I didn't find any clothes but I bought the dictionary that Lisa and I chose last time. I also bought a gift book with very pretty pictures. I might not give it away because the pictures are so pretty. I also bought another gift. Yeah.

Then we went to the supermarket and bought radishes among other things.

Germans take soccer very seriously. German chickens take it even more seriously.

And that was my lovely day. I learned what coffee does to me. I saw a magical castle. I washed my hair too. I can't believe it's been almost two weeks. SUMMER VACATION!! Also, there's a soccer match today and Lisa and I didn't watch it but we could hear the neighbors everytime D-land scored so we knew the score.
